New Crosswicks Creek Greenway Trail Access Points in Upper Freehold ![]() This new sign was erected on August 28, 2009 to indicate one of the newest trail access points along the Greenway. It indicates the trail can support biking, hiking, and horseback riding. This part of the Greenway was most-recently property owned by the NJ Thoroughbred Breeder's Association. The open fields are being mowed but some spaces are reverting back to their natural state. Improvements include parking, picnic tables, and mowed trail areas around the perimeter of the property which pass adjacent to the westerly bank of the creek. ![]() This new sign was erected in March 2010 to indicate the newest trail access point along the Greenway. It indicates the trail can support biking, hiking, horseback riding and fishing. This part of the Greenway -- about 91 acres forming the southwestern corner of Upper Freehold Township -- was most recently owned by a private individual and was operated as an equine rescue and Christian ministry to troubled teen girls. The old dilapidated barn was razed shortly after Monmouth County acquired the property in 2007. The open fields are being mowed but some spaces are reverting back to their natural state, most notably the property perimeter along CR-537 and Provinceline Road. Improvements so far include parking, and mowed trail areas around the perimeter of the property which pass adjacent to the westerly bank of the creek. If YOU know of other access points to trails or creeks in your community (within the Crosswicks Watershed), please drop us an e-mail telling in what township, county, and location (roads, private access easement, etc.), and type of activity supported (biking, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, canoe/kayak, etc.) as the Watershed Association would like to put an "Access Map" together identifying such locations. *** CORPORATE DOCUMENTS *** Certificate of Incorporation Bylaws for the Association Conflict of Interest Policy (under review) We are a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit by virtue of our Certificate of Incorporation and our Bylaws.
