This
project was funded by matching grants from NJ DEP Office of
Environmental Services and the four involved municipalities --
Allentown Borough, Hamilton Township, Millstone Township, and Upper
Freehold Township.
This
study is ultimately to determine the feasibility of the creation
of a trail system along the Doctors Creek beginning at the confluence
of the Doctors and Crosswicks Creeks in Hamilton Township and
connecting to the existing trail system in the southern portion of
the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area.
Since
this involves a number of individual landowners in the vicinity
of the Doctors Creek, the Greenway Group's professional consultant -- Forbes
Environmental & Land Use Planning -- has begun the
necessary preparations for community education on this concept. A
survey
questionnaire
was prepared and mailed out to the identified
property owners within the study area. In the early part
of September 2006, a public meeting was held at which time the
preliminary maps
and study findings were presented.
(If
you are a landowner adjacent to the
Doctors Creek and have not filled out a survey form, please do that
even though
the submission date has passed. We want as much feedback from
neighboring
landowners as possible to gauge interest in this study. Perhaps you
might wish
to e-mail
us
with your thoughts, comments, or questions. Thank you!)
