Karen Frances (Enders) Riley
1962 - 2013

Biography & Obituary (PDF)

It is with great sadness that we send this message.  On April 20, 2013, Karen Riley was called home at the age of 50.  Attached is a one-page PDF that was taken from the most-recent New Egypt News with her biography and the obituary.

As you may know, Karen was the Plumsted Township Liaison to the original "Greenway Group", the pre-cursor to the Crosswicks-Doctors Creek Watershed Association.

Her business, KFR Communications LLC, provided the Watershed Association with its new "branding" -- logo and color scheme -- which you have already seen in our emails, letterhead, and most-recently the mailers for our well water testing & membership growth initiative.  We are proud to have had her hand influencing our growth over the years.

Please keep her family and surviving business partner, Andrew Gioulis, in your prayers as they find a way through this difficult period.

"And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
(Phillipians 4:7)

Prospertown Lake Sluice Gate Repair Completed
Prospertown Lake is back on the list for spring trout stocking, now that the dam repair is completed. The lake will be restocked with warmwater fish consisting of largemouth bass, sunfish, crappies and bullheads later in the summer when available from Hackettstown Hatchery. You can contact biologist Chris Smith at 856-629-4950 for more information.

2013 Canoe / Kayak Race & Tour - Not Scheduled Yet
Assessment of the creek section that is used to host the race is starting.  There are many trees that have fallen into the waterway as a result of the recent storms, making much of the race course section impassable.  Updates will be posted here as they become available.

NEWS FLASH! (2/18/2011)
Breza-Phase II has finally closed and is now preserved and co-owned by the State of New Jersey and the Borough of Allentown. This now puts the final piece of the puzzle in-place to enable the envisioned trail system to go forward. Go here for a recent news article. Go here for a more detailed discussion on the proposed trail system. This parcel is in the center of the picture (outlined in fuchsia) on the page.

LOCAL CAMPGROUND NEEDS ENVIRONMENTAL SUPPORT
Liberty Lake Campground in Mansfield Township (Burlington County), NJ faces potential detriment from a proposed warehouse plan on adjacent lands. While situate in the Crafts Creek Watershed, Liberty Lake Day Camp is a regional neighbor whose plight could just as well be ours.
